Call it brilliantly complex and radically ambiguous, call it ultimately rewarding, but whatever the case, the science-fiction mecha series, 'RahXephon,' has impressed viewers with its engagingly mysterious plot and superb animation, while displaying a lush marquee soundtrack that fans will not want to miss out on, with the release of 'RahXephon Original Soundtrack 1.' Composer and performer Ichiko Hashimoto's musical attention to detail and willingness to experiment with a minimalist approach result in aesthetically gorgeous instrumentals that will reign supreme with listeners. This 21-track CD features three vocal songs, including the intro theme, 'Hemisphere,' performed by voice actress Maaya Sakamoto and produced by Yoko Kanno, and the ending theme, 'Egg of the Dream' sung by Mayumi Hashimoto and Ichiko Hashimoto.
